Join Us on National Child Exploitation Awareness Day – 18 March 2026

We’re inviting hoteliers and taxi companies to an important upskilling event focused on Safeguarding and Operation Makesafe.

📅 Date: 18 March 2026

📍 Location: Melton 2 Police Station

🕘 Time: Arrive by 9.30am for a 10am start. The event will end at 3pm.

Who should attend?

Hotels: One owner/management representative and one reception manager (or similar role) from each location

Taxi companies/drivers: Open to all

This event will cover:

How to avoid breaches under Section 116 of the Antisocial Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014

Best practice for supporting vulnerable guests staying at hotels

Updating policy and practice documents

Upskilling staff to spot and prevent exploitation

How taxi firms and drivers can avoid inadvertently trafficking children

All of this is aimed at preventing your establishments being used as a base for exploitation, with particular attention on protecting children and reducing the risk of children being transported for criminal gain. There will also be networking opportunities and free resources available throughout the day.

The event is completely free, but please bring lunch provisions. If for any reason you cannot attend, please send someone in your stead and the guest list can be updated.
